Should I use Fansly or only concentrate with OnlyFans?

Is focusing and putting in effort creating content for platforms other than OnlyFans worth it? While OF is by far the biggest site for adult creator content, Fansly has some advantages not provided by OnlyFans - but, is it worth the time?

One of the biggest differnces between Fansly and OnlyFans is how users discover creators — Fansly has a discovery feed worth understanding.

Fansly has something that OnlyFans does not - internal marketing in the form of a For You Page (FYP). This is an internal feed that promotes creators within the site itself, so users can discover you more easily than they would on OnlyFans, giving creators the opportunity to have their content shown algorithmically to subscribers rather than the impetus be on the creators themselves to do the marketing.

Creators spoken to for this article report that Fansly tends to promote live streams more effectively within the platform, but it is mainly undecided whether the tradeoff is worth it vs OnlyFans' overall market reach.

OnlyFans

With OnlyFans, the marketing is up to you. You will need to build your own marketing funnel, usually using social media platforms, posting on Reddit or any other creative ways you can think of to get your page out there to potential subs.

One big issue is that OnlyFans has a major advantage in reach and brand recgonition. Because OnlyFans is so widely recognized as the goto for adult content creators, creators often report a higher conversion rates from external marketing and direct outreach. While you may receive more traffic through the internal feed on Fansly, OnlyFans ultimately could generate more actual buyers since potential subscribers are already familar and comfortable with the platform. It makes sense if you think about it - are you more likely to use something you've never heard of, or something you know is established and other people use?

Differences in spending and tiers

Both platforms have big differences in how creators can stucture subscriptions.

Fansly allows creators to create multiple subscription tears, with different content and benefits for users available at each level. Honestly, it can feel a little complicated because of its permissions and content settings, but once you start using it, it starts to feel intuitive.

The flexibilty can create additional monetization opportunities. Creators can offer several price points, for example:

Basic tier — lower-cost access Mid-tier — additional photos/videos Premium tier — potentially including perks such as no PPV content

This allows creators to offer different levels of access without maintaining multiple profiles.

OnlyFans does not support multiple subscript tiers on a single page.

Creators who want different pricing structures often operate two separate accounts. For example:

• A free or inexpensive page where additional content is sold through PPV
• A VIP/no-PPV paid page with more content included in the subscription

This is basically a Fansly tier system, but has more overhead associated with it since you now have to run two separate pages.

Other things

In my experience, higher spending subscribers often migrate toward Fansly, while lower spending subs are more likely to remain on OnlyFans. Why is this? I'm not sure. It may be, again, because OnlyFans has more brand recognition so more "normal" people use it than Fansly.

Both platforms charge a 20% fee once you start earning revenue. However, an argument can be made that you get "more" with Fansly. Their customer support is more responsive and helpful than Onlyfans', you get internal promotion, and they offer chargeback protection in most cases (if a user subscribes, views content and then files a chargeback, Fansly covers the loss.) which OnlyFans does not.

Should you use Fansly or OnlyFans or both?

Rather than treating the platforms as either/or, in my opinion you should use both, as they both have their own advantages over the other:

Fansly: Internal discovery and algorithmic promotion, flexible subscription tiers, potentially stronger high-spender monetization OnlyFans: Strong brand recgonition and potentially higher conversion rates

Using both therefore is worth the time and effort - Fansly can help creators get discovered, while OnlyFans can capitalize on its familiarity and brand recognition to convert external users into paying subscribers. It may be more work, but in the end, worth it.
